About the conference
Across the continent and throughout the diaspora, a new era of African leadership is emerging—one rooted not only in economic growth and innovation, but in identity, cultural grounding, and collective responsibility. At a time when global systems are being reexamined, Africa’s transformation begins both within and among us.
This year’s AGSA Conference centers on the theme:
“Reclaiming Ourselves, Rebuilding Our World: African Transformation Through Inner Power and Collective Action.”
Rather than focusing solely on external metrics of development, the 2026 conference invites participants to reflect on the deeper foundations of sustainable progress. What does it mean to reclaim narrative, identity, and agency? How do self-understanding and cultural confidence translate into institutional change, economic innovation, and community empowerment?
Through keynote addresses, dynamic panel conversations, and interactive dialogue, the conference will explore how personal reclamation fuels collective transformation. It will examine how African thinkers, creators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and advocates are shaping systems that are more equitable, human-centered, and globally influential.
By bringing together leaders across disciplines and generations, the Fifth Annual AGSA Conference seeks to create space for reflection, connection, and action—charting a future where Africa’s next chapter is defined not only by opportunity, but by intentional, collective rebuilding.
Keynote Speakers
Beverly Naya
Beverly Naya is a Nigerian-British actress and producer known for her award-winning work in Nollywood and her advocacy around identity and representation. She is the founder of Be Naya Productions and the producer of the documentary Skin, which explores colorism and beauty standards in African communities.
Wunmi Bello
Wunmi Bello is a Nigerian feminist activist, writer, and co-founder of the Feminist Coalition, a collective advancing gender equality and civic accountability. She is known for her leadership in youth-led organizing, public advocacy, and writing on feminism, politics, and social change, and is a frequent speaker at universities and global forums.
